2025 Recap

We’ve had another busy year, including the long awaited septic upgrade which will allow us to continue with our endeavours for further facility upgrades. We are also receiving a light upgrade to our senior and junior fields which are expected to be ready for the 2026 season. Thank you to the NT government for this generous upgrade. This will allow us to host more night games, with the plan being to hold junior and senior games at the club on Friday nights, cheers to Sunday sleep-ins!

This year we fielded 19 teams, including 3 all girls teams, from U6s all the way to seniors. Our U13s team has had an astonishing year taking out minor premiership. Special mention to Jon who is the top goal scorer of any player across ALL junior and senior divisions.

Throughout the season we hosted many events including a goal keeper training clinic hosted by Patrick. We would like to continue developing our goalkeepers next year and beyond. Thank you Patrick for your time and efforts. We also continued to host combined girls training sessions, however it was difficult to have a rich combination of junior and senior players due to training schedules. We aim to continue strengthening this program in 2026.

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we hosted our annual quiz night which was another successful event. A special shout out to Rachel, Megan, and Kell for your unwavering efforts and all the volunteers who donated food or helped on the night.

Thank you again to all of our generous supporters who donated auction items, we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you to our Canteen Coordinator, Lea, for organizing another profitable Bunnings BBQ. It was great to see volunteers assisting on the day or donating food to support the club. I’m sure everyone has seen Lea around the club, running the canteen basically every home game. Thank you Lea for all of your time, as well as regular volunteers Karyn, Suz, Bridget and the Pilkie, Bostock, Howl, and Rinkin families. And thank you to Greg and Shane for line marking our fields all season.

We hosted the Maldives International Men’s team back in July as part of their Asian Cup Campaign. They were all extremely grateful to use our facilities for their training camp, and we look forward to the opportunity to host the Maldives or other teams in the future.

2026 is just around the corner, and we have plenty of exciting things to come. We are campaigning to bring back our senior men’s team. Our top priority is to lock in a suitable coach, then recruit players. Please spread the word. We are also intending on having either an U15s or U16s team, depending on what age group is established by FFNT.

We are still working towards building upgrades. There is a lot of work to be done in the background for this but we are aiming to apply for a major grant in 2026 to assist us with the build. This will be carried out in stages which will include an undercover area and a new canteen. If you know of any builders or contractors who may be interested in supporting the club with this, please reach out.
